Highlights for the 2019 American Chemical Society national meeting in Orlando

WASHINGTON, Feb. 18, 2019 -- Journalists who register for the American Chemical Society's (ACS') Spring 2019 National Meeting & Exposition in Orlando, Florida, will have access to nearly 13,000 presentations on the meeting's theme, "Chemistry for New Frontiers," and many more topics, including food, nutrition, medicine, health, space science, energy and the environment. The meeting, one of the largest scientific conferences of the year, will be held March 31-April 4 in Orlando.

ACS will operate a press center in the Orange County Convention Center, Room W231B, March 31-April 3. The press center will be fully staffed to assist in arranging interviews and will have Wi-Fi, computers and refreshments. Press conferences will be held in Room W231C.

Journalists also are invited to the ACS Kids Zone hands-on science event at the Orlando Science Center on Saturday, March 30, from noon to 3 p.m. No registration is necessary for journalists or families for this fun, free event.

ACS provides complimentary registration to national meetings to reporters (staff and freelance) and public information officers at government, non-profit and educational institutions. Marketing and public relations professionals, lobbyists and scientists do not qualify as press and must register via the main meeting registration page. Journal managing editors, book commissioning editors, acquisitions editors, publishers and those who do not produce news for a publication or institution also do not qualify.
